★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 赤岩と地割からは万人むけの単なるハイキングコース的なルート。宝明と北側コルから登れば危険なぶんだけ多少面白い。過去に滑落死者もいるようだ。
北側は古道のほうがおもしろい。ただ道の形は残ってないのでルートファインディングできない人には無理。沢ルートもある。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ おかめ山は「地割」から登ると往復3時間。鬱蒼として交錯した竹林を抜け、暫く杉林の中を通ると眺望の良い崖にそったルートに出ます。岩場もあり登り切ったところでおかめ山（西峰）に到着。実は、おかめ山は西峰と東峰の二つのピークを持つ双耳峰。再度鞍部を少し下って最後の登りをすればおかめ山（東峰）に到着。こちらの山頂の方が少し狭いのですが、山頂からは、竜神大吊橋、明山、男体山の眺望が望めます。
