と、勝手に決めつけている当方の基準からすると、高崎は「よい街」に入る。この書店があるからだ。まあ、「ここだけだ」という問題は残るのだが。
品揃えは、老舗らしく、地域史関係本がまずきっちり揃っていて、歴史、思想、美術、文学などが集められており、廉価でありがたい権威ある全集本バラ売りや、比較的新しい文庫・新書も充実している。で、うす暗めの店の奥には、古書の裏も表も知り尽くしたような店主さんが、ペーパーナイフと木工用ボンドで書籍をリペアしているわけである。
こういうあまり回転の良くなさそうな地方の古書店（すいません）には、得てして長年探していた本がひょいと置いてあったりするものだから、本好きのあなたには、高崎に来ることがあったら訪問をおすすめする。JR駅からせいぜい数百メートルである。
