神社の前には八幡太郎手割りの石なるものがあり、きれいにぱっかりと割れています（手割りとの名ですが太刀で切ったらしいです。まあそれでも十分すごいんですが）。
境内は保存緑地に指定されており、大きな木が何本もあります。そのおかげで少し薄暗く荘厳な雰囲気が漂います。鹿島神社のほかにお稲荷様の社もあり、祀られているようです。
拝殿は普通の建物といった印象ですが、本殿の宮彫の中に象のような動物があったのが個人的に面白かったです。
