★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 御祭神・御由緒とも残念ながら分かりません。しかし「鉾の宮」のような名を持つ社となりますと，とある神又は英雄（源義家など）が東征の途中にこの地で宿陣や休息した際，(折れた）鉾を地面に差したところ，たちまち・・・」などの御由緒があるものですので，小さくともしかるべき社ではないかと思うのです。
日立市内陸部の狭い道路が交差する住宅街，石内幼稚園（閉園らしいです）の門前左手の茂み・・・いや，なんと見事なスダジイの御神木でありましょうか。その御神木を背に「鉾の宮神社」と「天満神社」の二祠が並んで鎮座していらっしゃいました。
