★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our money’s worth didn’t get our expectations!! We complained upon entering our room that what we have a small room for 3 and more disgusting when we opened the windows all we can see were roof, walls, and more roof of old buildings etc!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent modern ryokan. Huge tatami mat rooms with large windows looking flowing stream and the occasional local train. Dinner is fantastic. Indoor and outdoor onsen. Staff speaks little English but very helpful

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Courteous arrival/departure protocols without being too fussy. Spacious, clean rooms, futon-only rooms a bit cheaper than Western bed-based rooms (our party used both). Decent buffet dinner with all the usuals (tempura, steak, sashimi, pizza, salad, karaage, desserts etc etc); breakfasts a tad disappointing, all the usual J options available but Western options slightly limited. Don't miss the decked garden area with water features just off the reception area, good a.m. photo opportunities with mountain/river backdrops. B1 onsen a bit better than 1F onsen (overnight M/F swap, be sure to do both!) Local craft demos and evening musical presentation included in package.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice hotel. I suppose to stay in Kusatsu for 3 days but I made my last-minute plan changed to move to Minakami due to closer to the Norn Ski Resort. I did a couple of research and selected this hotel. When I arrived at the hotel, the hotel staff come and help with the luggage.
Free multi-level parking available at 80m near the hotel.
The check-in process is smooth. While waiting kid can enjoy drawing in the lobby. There is a fireplace in the lobby as well. I book this hotel because of its offering buffet dinner and breakfast, which is awesome. Some Chinese students working there so if you can speak Chinese then it will be fine. 1st floor and B1 are onsen location, there is an arcade, karaoke, massage service on the 1st floor. The staff are very polite. I and my family enjoy the stay so much.
Don't miss the Tuna まぐろ cutting shows at dinner. Big tuna (1meters +-)!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice ace to stay in Minakami, rooms are vety nicely decorated and super clean. The baths are also very clean and well maintained. Dinner and breakfast are buffet style but freshly prepared right in front of you.
