パンフレットでは
陸奥国府の官であった藤原経清が江刺に移り住んだ11世紀半ば頃の地方豪族の一般的な館で、第一期豊田館と呼ばれます。奥殿と西対の三棟が茅葺き屋根になっているのが特徴で、寝殿ほか台所・馬舎・宿直などもあり、これらがやがて渡殿で結ばれて寝殿造へ発展していきます。
