パンフレットでは
平泉文化の最高傑作である金色堂を、創建当時を想定して覆堂のない姿で再現しています。藤原清衡は、戦乱で罪なくして死せられた魂を弔い、奥羽の安寧と国家の安泰を祈願するとともに、辺境といわれた地に都と同じ仏教文化を築くという願いを込めて金色堂を建立しました。中尊寺金色堂は三軒四方の単層方形造で、木造に漆が塗られ、その上に金箔が張られ、内陣は平安美術の最高傑作といわれています。

翌日、中尊寺に行き、本物の金色堂を拝観しましたが、本物ではありますが覆堂内でガラス越し、修復作業中で当時の光景とはかけ離れており、
再現というもののこちらの展示を見れて良かったと思いました。
行った日は紅葉ライトアップ実施中で、金色堂及び北側にある見晴らし台からの景色を昼、夜楽しむことができました。

On the day I went, the autumn leaves were lit up, and I was able to enjoy the view from the Golden Hall and the observation deck on the north side day and night.
