It’s our favorite confectionery ever, lusciously delicious, and always super-fresh. As for Matsuzakaya Ueno as a whole, it’s a venerable department store that has kept itself pretty up-to-date without losing its old-world charm. Very close to Okachimachi Station.

I bought a parasol in the accessories department on the ground floor and paid with a 10,000 yen bill ($100), which is BROWN. The employee looked at this money I had put on the tray, turned around and walked to a BACK CURTAINED AREA, and emerged with a DIFFERENT BLUE 1,000 yen bill and said oh I'm sorry, this is the wrong bill, you need to pay with a 10,000 yen bill. There was a group of employees looking on at this interaction lowering their heads and smirking. I was flabbergasted. Later I tried to complain to the management and they denied such a thing could happen. I lived in Tokyo for 7 years and would never make this mistake, but I could see that tourists would, all the time.

The foods here are worth visiting all though they are expensive. The ground floor is dedicated for foods items.
