★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good place to go if you want to try Nagoya's famous Hitsumabushi dish without venturing from the train station. I just stopped here for lunch on the way from Osaka to Tokyo (possible because of the JR pass) and it was a worthwhile stop. Expect a wait during peak meal times (I waited about 30 minutes for lunch).
I got the mini size since I wasn't very hungry, but I'd recommend getting the regular size since the mini doesn't really come with enough unagi to fully appreciate the different tasting methods.
Don't forget to ask for your soup/tea for the third tasting! They don't bring it out until you ask for it. Make sure you read the instructions before you dig in!

For good food thers always a quene. Be prepared to wait before enjoying this meal in nagoya

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to dine in a traditionally decorated and furnished restaurant, with an excellent unagi meal set made with obviously fresh ingredients. Has a very formal atmosphere, and filled with a lot of elderly citizens (hinting how good it is). Only wished that they gave you a bit more for what you payed for.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The eel here is out of this world. Super good. Tender. Fragrant. Tasty....u name it. The set comes with instructions on how to enjoy it further. Picture below is proof. That's 300g rice and whole eel.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely delicious and met the standards of what we were looking for in the Nagoya Unagi speciality.
The restaurant was a bit difficult to bring a child in, but there was an option to get a take out order (see picture).
It was made to order and by the time we got back to the hotel, it was still in perfect condition. Tasted amazing! Best unagi we have ever had.
