★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 親鸞聖人の孫弟子了専の創建のお寺で、真宗高田派としては妙源寺とともに由緒ある寺院です。足利尊氏の開運祈願や松平氏などの帰依で発展し、本堂をはじめ太子堂、鐘楼門などは、いずれも300年以上の歴史を持つ江戸初期の建造物です。
なかなか見ごたえがありますよ。
また、三河一向一揆の際は徳川家康に味方したお寺のひとつで、これは松平氏や領主層の帰依を受け、寺内の不入の特権が認められていたからでもあります。
そして、境内には岡崎生まれの俳人鶴田卓池の句碑があります。
桜井梅室、成田蒼虬、田川鳳朗とともに「天保の四老人」のひとりと言われた人です。
境内ある句碑「かがやきの ますばかりなり けふの月」
It is a temple founded by Shinran saint's grandchildren, and is a historical temple along with Myogenji as a Shinran Takada school. Developed by Mr. Takauji Ashikaga's prayer for good luck and the devotion of Mr. Matsudaira, the main hall, Taishi-do, and Bell Tower Gate are all buildings in the early Edo period with a history of more than 300 years.
It's quite impressive.
In addition, it was one of the temples on the side of Ieyasu Tokugawa during the Battle of Azukizaka Mikawa, and this is also because the privilege of non-entry in the temple was granted due to the devotion of Mr. Matsudaira and the lords.
And there is a monument of Okazaki-born poet Takuike Tsuruta in the precincts.
Along with Sakurai Baishitsu, Soho Narita, and Horo Tagawa, he was said to be one of the "four old men of Tenpo."
