★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 「丸山離水海食洞」は山陰海岸ジオパーク遺跡そのもので目前に姿を現わせています。
自然の力は地形地物が立ちはだかる位置に居れば容赦のない力でそれに働き掛け作用を及ぼします。
当時、丸山の海に面した山肌には冬期になれば絶えず北西の季節風と波浪が打ち寄せて山肌の岩を削り穿ちました。長い長い年月の間に海水は徐々に引いて行き現在の位置に至ります。
「丸山離水海食洞」はその結果の海の波浪が作り上げた遺跡です。
この荒々しくてごつごつした感じは何んなんでしょうか。
一切の手加減がない厳しい自然の力の遺跡に畏怖する気持ちと近寄って見てみたいと思う好奇心とで、結局好奇心が勝り立ち止まり魅せられました。

見学は数分で終わります。
看板によれば、「縄文海進」によってできたものだそうです。

道沿いにあるため見学には注意が必要です。重箱緑地の駐車場から歩いて行けます。
