加西市北部公民館の敷地へ入るとすぐに展示されています。古墳時代後期の石棺で、この周辺の農業基盤整地の事前調査時に発見されたということで、そこにヤクチ4号墳と呼ばれる横穴式石室を持つ古墳があったが石棺と出土物は救出し残りは水田になった・・という経緯があるようです。石棺を見ると非常にコンパクト・・というよりも素直に小さい。古墳時代後期なので、小規模にするために面積を抑え埋葬時に体を屈折させた感じに思えます。一部紛失した部分をどのように補ったのかは解りませんが掘り出された石棺は分解されて石棺仏や神社の土台・橋桁・板碑など様々に使われているのは見ますが本来の形で公開されているのは珍しいと思いますので、機会があれば寄ってほしい場所です。車で訪れる場合、公民館の駐車場がありますので目的地についたら道標に従って駐車場へ移動してください。

I do not know how to make up for the partially lost part, but the excavated sarcophagus is disassembled and it is seen that it is used in various ways such as sarcophagus Buddha and the foundation, bridge girder, plate monument of the shrine, but the original I think it is rare that it is released in the form, so if you have the opportunity, it is a place you want to stop by. If you come by car, there is a public hall parking lot. When you reach your destination, please follow the signpost to the parking lot.
