★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 薬師寺南門のすぐ近くにあります。石鳥井の奥に赤い鳥居が続きます。ここから薬師寺の西塔が見えます。
 It is located in the immediate vicinity of Yakushiji Temple. There is a red torii next to Ishii Torii. You can see the western tower of Yakushiji from here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 休ケ岡八幡宮と薬師寺を結ぶ小道にあるお稲荷さん。薬師寺とは直接関わりありませんが、藤原氏が創建に尽力したそう。こじんまりしとした境内ですが、世界遺産のお膝元にて清々しい佇まいの神社でした。
Inari is on the path connecting Tsurugaoka Hachimangu and Yakushiji. Although it is not directly related to Yakushiji, it seems that Mr. Fujiwara made an effort to build it. Although it is a small shrine, it was a shrine with a refreshing appearance at the knees of a World Heritage Site.

休ヶ岡八幡宮の兼務社のようです。

鳥居が真っ赤に光ってステキです。
On March 20, 2021, just across a small bridge from the south gate of Yakushiji Temple.
The torii shines bright red and is wonderful.

創建や御由緒の詳細は不明で、当社の北側に鎮座する薬師寺とは所縁のない神社との事です。
一説によれば、当社は藤原氏が現在の栃木県佐野市に築いた稲荷社に遡るものであり、その後兵庫県の姫路に移転、そして姫路から現在地に遷座したそうです。

The details of the founding and history are unknown, and it is a shrine with no relation to Yakushiji Temple, which sits on the north side of our company.
According to one theory, the company dates back to the Inari company that Mr. Fujiwara currently built in Sano City, Tochigi Prefecture, then moved to Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture, and moved from Himeji to the present location.

こじんまりとした境内ですが、美しく管理がなされている神社です。

…とも思いましたが、
一応、南門から程近い、
薬師寺の境内社なので(^_^;)
お狐さまのご表情が…
思いっきり感じ悪く、
取り憑かれると嫌なので…

由来はかつて藤原氏が現在の栃木県佐野市に築いた稲荷社に遡るものともされています。（孫太郎の名は、その過程で神社を復興させた人物の名によるとも言われています）
関東地方に由来する神社ですが、
後にその神様が姫路城下に祀られることになり、
最終的には江戸時代の寛政期に刀工の三条小鍛冶の仲立ちにより、
この薬師寺の傍らに遷座したものとされています。
祭神は稲荷神社であることから、
「宇迦之御魂神（ウカノミタマ）」を祀っていて、
鳥居の横には、厳めしい表情の「お狐さま」の石像が建っています。
