A monument on the border between the former Mino and Shinano countries. The word “Kitaki Kushiro from this” written by Dr. Fujimura Shimazaki It will make you feel your travels.

If you walk along the Zhongshan Road from the west, you will find "Kisoji". "Kisoji is all in the mountains," I remember being deeply moved and excited.

It is a stone monument with a great atmosphere. Kisoji north of Kore Walk from far to this place, finally Kisoji The surrounding air will also change from this border. There is no need to say the old feeling of the monument.

Mino Shinano border. It was also the prefectural border between Gifu and Nagano prefectures, but in 2005, Yamaguchi-mura, Kiso-gun, Nagano was merged with Nakatsugawa-shi, Gifu prefecture due to the merger of Kiso prefecture, and the prefectural border moved to the east and deviated from the prefectural border. I didn't notice it was written by Toson Shimazaki.

The atmosphere is very nice, such as the mossy Ichirizuka. I want to walk around someday.

Right opposite the Sinchaya Ryokan is a pretty little garden that I have to assume belongs to the ryokan. Nearby are a couple of inscribed stones. One has a haiku by famed poet Basho ("After being seen/Off, and seeing off/The Kiso autumn") and the other a quote by writer Toson ("North from here is the Kiso Road"). It is a delightful, quiet little spot, if you are walking or driving the Nakasendo Highway, do spend a few minutes here. There is a car park (free) with a toilet just round the corner, and also a stretch of original Nakasendo Highway a stone's throw away.
