★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 入居してから4か月過ぎた頃に、突然、番地が違う、大家のハンコのない契約書が送られてきた。電話をすると「どこのどちらさん?」。どこのやくざの事務所に間違ったのかと血の気が引いた。役所に届けたら番地が違うといわれた旨を伝えると、確認もせずに、間違ってない主張をされたので、そのまま届けたら、更新時の書類には、しれっと訂正してきた。
入居2か月でお湯が出なくなったので電話をしたら、ベトナムから部品が届かない。と言われた。コロナ禍なので無理も言えず、ないものを何とかしろとも言えないし、そもそも、水が漏れてても使えるようならそのまま使っててといわれるぐらい。業者から連絡がいくから電話には出てね、と言われたからずっと待ってたけど、結局、電話はなかった。
管理費を何に使ってるのか、週に二回シルバー人材センターがやってきて掃除をしていくが、駐車場は落ち葉だらけ。植え込みは雑草だらけ。掃除なしで入居すぐに生活できますよ。と言われたが、お風呂は虫の死骸と埃だらけ、洗面所の水流がどうも緩いので蛇口を分解してみたら、さびと、虫の死骸と、どろどろしたものが詰まってて京都ライフの人はこんな環境で生活してるのかしらと同情した。
営業は、良い人なんだろうよ。
管理する気がないなら、管理費なんか取らなきゃいいのに。湯が出ないから2年、銭湯に通ったが、家賃の割引などもない。あくまで、部屋をかしてやってるんだという態度。
契約書のことも、電話の対応も、これが京都基準なんだろうけど、全国標準にしてもらいたい。

However, the bath was full of dead insects and dust, and the water flow in the bathroom was so slow that I tried disassembling the faucet, and it was full of rust, dead insects, and muddy things. I sympathized with people wondering if they lived in such an environment.
I think the sales person is a good person.
If you don't want to manage it, you have to pay the management fee. I went to a public bath for two years because there was no hot water, but there was no discount on rent. To the last, the attitude that he is doing it in the room.

They never have any issue taking your money, but should you ever have any problems, you'd better find a way to fix them yourself, as Kyoto Life will either take weeks, or even months to address them. All while making you feel like you've done something wrong.
I'm serious. Every problem I ever had in my apartment, from a leaky toilet (weeks) to typhoon damage (6 months+) took an unreasonable amount of time to get fixed, and sometimes didn't get fixed at all! Kyoto Life seemed only to respond when I threatened to not pay rent, and even then would drag their feet and make you feel bad.
Decisions often need to go through the manager, who seems to never be present.
But the real kicker is getting out of a property managed by Kyoto Life. They require 2 MONTHS notice, are completely inflexible on the move date, and will only accept you moving on the very last day of any given month. They will not prorate your rent if you need to leave earlier, and are generally not accommodating.
When I decided to leave my Kyoto Life managed apartment, I gave 6 weeks notice (as soon as possible), and was told I would be responsible for an ENTIRE EXTRA MONTH of rent. For what??? Such a scam!
Never do business with these charlatans. If you see an apartment managed by Kyoto Life, then RUN! Find some other place. Otherwise god help you if you have any trouble, or even want to move.
