There is a cheaper selection on one of the floors and also hand crafting stations where you create your own craftables. A nice ghibli section in a decent bookstore along with other popular IP's.

They also offer classes and crafting experiences. Definitely worth a look if you're in Kyoto, not the easiest place to get to though.

There is a good collection of samurai imitation swords that are made of zinc and the cost is super affordable compared to the local prices or online prices in any other country. For 10000 yen, there are good options to star with. Shop is in 2 buildings right next each other and the west building has multiple levels to cater various enthusiasts. One of the must go during Kyoto visit.

There is a wide range of locally made goods, from cheap trinkets to impressive, higher end items. The centre has lost much of its popularity, since its inception...but is still a great place to take school groups and first- timers to Japan.
