草津温泉ホテルヴィレッジ

Large hotel with a lot of amenities to enjoy. Excellent spread for breakfast and the buffet spread for dinner seems to be good as well, though we didn't opt for that. Was a short stopover but would come again to enjoy the place for itself.

2nd time here. Very good hotel with good food and lots to do, perfect for familys. Does need Refurbishment and some repairs its a bit old and dated.

A bit dingy but great facilities. Such a large, spread out hotel with pool, forest activities, etc for everyone

The rooms where nice, wide and clean. The quality of the food offered in the evening buffet was higher than expected considering the relatively low price. The onsen in the hotel aso very nice albeit relatively small. The place offer a small arcade, karaoke box and small 3-lanes bowling.

Lacks English guidance, not many English speaking staff but buffets has a good selection of food, however it's crazy expensive. The rooms are very clean, spacious and provides all the essential amenities and there are various activities you can take such as bowling (first come first serve basis, billiards/pool (only one table so book in advance), karaoke and bar, swimming, skiing and such. We didn't get a chance to ski because there wasn't enough snow set. Also, activities are limited because of the snow e.g tennis, fishing, archery etc. Hotel's slightly away from the town centre but there are shuttle buses running regularly. Overall was a decent experience and the town is very beautiful!

The bath tube was dirty. Found hair inside and signs of bad washing. So I gave up to use it on first night. I showed the pics to the front. They wanted to send someone to check but my wife was resting so I took the pics. It was château building. Viking diner menu has good dish but steak wasn’t good. Sushi and sashimi taste bad or nothing... I wanted not to eat them but it is impolite. So protein product like meat is missing, I meant amount and quality. Dessert a are small, very small, and just so so. Same ones for 2 days... Don’t do that please... Breakfast is ok. Croissant ok. Overall it’s a hold hotel. I feel they should change some parts as it does not feel good for the eyes ( pull shower cabines, air system in the room bath tub was rusty and crumbling. ) The much was à la carte and was ok though, but I feel it’s expensive and that s not fair when you know you a low quality food for diner( Viking ) I wished the manager had heard for the dirty bath tube and did offer discount instead of an apologize from front and clercs . I don’t why it get 4* rating... Overall I wish it was a better quality experience, even a little better. Not asking for 3* quality. And the Game Center ,on third day had the Mario kart video game arcade crashed... that was the only thing he was excited to play with... so offer again isnt as expected. chose well your food is my advice and but don’t chose raw fish, as a Japanese Obachan didn’t eat her sashimi... how come... a bit heart breaking

Had a great experience at Kusatsu Village Hotel. It is a perfect place to enjoy with family / friends considering they have a number of indoor facilities like big pong, bowling. Some outdoor activities were closed due to covid. Add to it the excellent indoor and outdoor onsen experience! The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff was super helpful and spoke English. The breakfast was lavish and fulfilling. Being a kilometer away from the city center, there are regular shuttles from the hotel to Yubatake.This was the view from my room

You definitely see and feel the age. The room keys are still…keys… Not enough outlets in the room. No outlet by the bed so you cant charge your phone by the bed. The room was way too hot and you cant control the temperature. Only the floor heater was controllable. We had to crack the window open. Its so hot that the -8C outside air made it bearable to sleep. We stayed at chateau bldg. The terme terme pool area was humid and hot. The locker room was humid and hot. The main onsen was great. Outside hot springs was amazing. The place had karaoke and bowling also. But we couldnt use it because last call was 7:30. Wish things were open later since theres nothing else to do in the area.
