★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful place for a walk, a more serious hike, a barbecue or for camping out for a few days. There is a staff there for any questions, plenty of toilet facilities and coin operated showers. Nice and cool and shady. The area is full of maples so I'm sure it will be gorgeous a little later in the year (late October/ early November). Road access by bicycle or car is good. I'm not sure about other methods.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Kuragari Gore is great for camping, fishing, BBQ and more. You can also hike up to Mt. Hongu straight from the Kuragari Gore as well. The hike takes about two hours 1-way. Not too many food options. Make sure to bring your own food. Good and easy hiking paths. The view at the peak is nothing spectacular. Plenty of free parking (closes at 5 p.m.).
