★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 外堀「跡」とはあるが、当時の面影を強く残している。高台から堀を見下ろすと急斜面が見え、下から登るのは大変そうだ。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 池になってるのか、川になってるのか不明。写真では伝わらないこの大きさ。内堀も外堀も大阪城超えたな。
It is unknown whether it is a pond or a river. This size is not transmitted in photos. Neither the inner moat nor the outer moat exceeded Osaka Castle.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ その名の通り、かつての江戸城の跡地。国の史跡に指定。跡地といっても依然水をたたえており豪雨の際はあふれそうになるほど。飯田橋(牛込)〜市ヶ谷〜四ツ谷〜赤坂見附までの約3.3kmと、虎ノ門エリアからなる。ランニングコースとして、お花見のスポットとしても素晴らしい
As its name suggests, it is the former site of Edo Castle. Designated as a national historic site. Even if it is said to be an old site, it is still filled with water, and it seems to overflow when there is heavy rain. It consists of Toranomon area, about 3.3km from Iidabashi (Ushigome) to Ichigaya to Yotsuya to Akasaka Mitsuke. As a running course, it is also a wonderful spot for cherry blossom viewing

桜の時季はもちろん他の季節でも新宿から総武線に乗って、市ヶ谷駅を過ぎると思わず窓外に目がいきます。
市ヶ谷から飯田橋迄ほっとする区間です。
Nationally designated historic sites, existing moats and banks, and some stone walls remain.
In the cherry blossom season and other seasons as well, I get on the Sobu line from Shinjuku, and when I pass Ichigaya station, I suddenly look outside the window.
It is a relieved section from Ichigaya to Iidabashi.
