Although there was information that "the hole of the pump iron pipe remained under the guardrail", it could not be confirmed locally. It is considered reasonable to think that the said remains have disappeared. However, mechanical pumps can be confirmed on the land in front of the shrine. Before and after the opening, the drilling technology of the well was immature and it could not reach the ground water even if digging under the plateau. Also, if you make a mistake in the location, you will see sea water coming out. Because of this, it was not possible to create a well inside. This is another simple example to show it. By the way, the Tokugawa Shogunate maintained Kanda Josui and Tamagawa Josui to secure drinking water to support the population of Edo. That is, they dug waterways and buried water pipes in the ground to supply drinking water to Edo. Especially, there are many remains of Kanda Josui in this area, so I think it's also more exciting when you visit there.

It shows the culture of the people in this area to cherish old things, but this indeed looks like a waste of space. LOL! It could be an interesting place if there were more explanatory notes... As I said, I took a picture and passed it by. lol
You can see the culture that people in this area value old things, but it looks like a waste of space. Lol It could be an interesting place if the explanations are a little more complete, but ... As expected, I also took a picture and passed through. Lol It shows the culture of the people in this area to cherish old things, but this indeed looks like a waste of space. LOL! It could be an interesting place if there were more explanatory notes ... As I said, I took a picture and passed it by. Lol

Horikane's well comes from the meaning of "I can't dig", and it is said that it means a well that everyone has had a hard time digging because water does not easily come out even if it is dug. The name of the well of Horikane is also found in other lands, but the well here has the following legend. A long time ago, a man who preceded his wife lived with his son. When the man had his second wife, he bullied his son badly. Gradually, this man also began to tease his son with his second wife, and had him dig a well in the garden to avoid mischief. The story is that the boy dug a well with his bare hands from morning till night, but no water came out, and he finally died with sperm roots. It's child abuse as it is now, but it's a story that can't be saved. By the way, the well is located at the end of the parking lot on the opposite side of the road and is maintained as a disaster prevention well.
