★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place looks a bit outdated but don’t hesitate to pay the ¥200 to get to the rooftop from where you’ll have a spectacular view over Mount Fuji and surrounding mountains. The lady in the shop has a great collection of handy maps to hike around Mount Fuji.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 1.5k walk up from the horse riding school at the bottom or short drive up track. Beautiful view and great place to watch the sunset. Not sure why the poster below complained about it not been open. Been numerous times and is always open. Nice old guy running the place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A comfy stop on an otherwise very empty trail, run by a very lovely couple who dont speak much english. The viewing platform offers some of the best uninterrupted views of Mt Fuji, as the panoramic viewing platform just up the road has half of Fuji obstructed by trees. The viewing platform is a 200 yen charge, but you can stay up there as long as you wish. Also has some much needed drinks for sale.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We arrived this Observatory at dawn. We didn't know cars can drive to the top, so we walked about 30 minutes. The ower there greeted us warmly. By the time we finished touring, it was completely dark. When we came back to the small cafe downstairs and worried about how to get back, the owner asked us if we need help to get down the hill. That's really heart warming!!! While He was driving us down, we met two other tourists walking down in dark. He said he would pick them up after driving us.
The view there is super beautiful without any doubt, at super good location, with momiji view with My.Fuji. But the most beautiful thing is definitely the owner's kind heart!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If your looking for somewhere to just take it all in check out this viewing station. There is a small admission fee which I think was around 200 yen per person. It's a long walk from anywhere but if you rent bicycles or a car you can take the road all the way to the top. if you have the option i would recommend bikes, it was so much fun.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a bit of a climb up the switchbacks, use a car (or horse). The observatory is a shop run by a single ojichan, and going to the top is 200 yen. Very quiet. He gives you a nice little map which shows the points of interest; either Japanese or English. Really an excellent stop to get a beautiful view of the mountain.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We realized today you can drive right to the top or hike if you wish.
At the top you pay 200 yen per person to go to a platform above an old building and get 360 views. You can see the diagram in one of the photos of what you can see. What blew our minds was seeing the sea of forest! Very impressive.
