★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 国道沿いの小高い山の上の神社、境内は広々で開通したばかりの大島大橋が眼下広がり絶景ポイント、御朱印にも大橋の印が押されてました。
A shrine on a small high mountain along the national highway, the Oshima Ohashi Bridge which was spacious and open in the precinct spreaded immediately below the superb view point and the Ohashi seal was also marked by the Ohashi mark.

敷地内には、震災前と後の写真もあり、
震災で亡くなられ方々の名前が刻まれた
慰霊碑があります。景色も良い所でしたよ。

The names of people who were killed in the earthquake were engraved
There is a monument. The view was good too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 後冷泉天皇の永承6年（1051、平安）8月、源頼義が奥州征伐の時に勧請にし、古谷館八幡と称する。
天喜5年、源義家が修復を加えて、鎧１領を献じて崇敬したと伝えられる。（口碑）
古くは当郡大谷村他、七ヶ村の鎮守として幕府巡見使巡国の度毎に参詣賽貨を献ずる例であった。
宝暦10年9月、領主鮎貝越中、藤原盛信が太刀一振を納める等、武将並に一般の尊崇を蒐めた。（社蔵記録）
明治5年村社に列し、明治40年幣帛共進社に指定せられた。明治42年14社を合祀する。
