★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Actually a 6 star destination in my book. This is my new favourite garden in Kyoto. Entry is free, but a donation is well deserved. Perhaps it was the flurries of snow that blew in amongst the pines and cryptomeria when I first visited, but the this quiet temple and tea house nestled in tidy garden is quite simply magical.
