濱	濱乃翔穏 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 真言宗智山派の寺院で、遠州地方随一とされる高さ5m以上もある青銅製の大仏は必見です。見た人は誰でも「こんな所にこんな大仏が！」と驚くことでしょう。しかし立派な大仏様に比べ、本堂はちょっとしょぼい感じがするのは私だけでしょうか（失礼！）。かつては、袋井市にある西楽寺の奥の院だったそうです。大仏は江戸中期に庶民の浄財により建立されたもので、台座には喜捨した数多くの人の名前と金額が刻まれています。個人の身の丈によって少額から高額まで様々な金額が喜捨されており、ひとつひとつ読んでいると、当時の人々の信仰心が偲ばれて胸がジーンとしてきました。県道からの入り口付近に「大仏の寺高平山遍照寺」の看板はありますが、道は狭くてわかりづらいかも知れません。寺への道は非常に細くて曲がりくねった急坂で、それなりの運転技術を持った方が“四駆の軽自動車”で行くことを強くお勧めします。私は二駆の軽トラックで行きましたが、途中で恐怖を感じて引き返しました。引き返すにしても大変で、車の向きを変える場所も急坂だったため、MT車で坂道発進を繰り返さなければならず、大変な思いをしました。 A bronze Buddha temple with a height of more than 5m, which is considered to be the highest in the Enshu region, is a must-see temple of the Shingon sect of Chiyama.
