り	りゅう on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ここは水戸城三の丸に位置しております。三の丸はもともと重臣屋敷でしたが、天保12年(1841年)に徳川斉昭により藩校弘道館が開設されました。その弘道館の北側にこの公園がつくられました。この公園の注目ポイントは北側にある土塁と堀です。復元されたものではなく、当時の姿を残したまま現存しているのです。もちろん風化して形はかわっているでしょうけど。ここは本当の水戸城跡といえます。 This is located in Mito Castle Sannomaru. Sannomaru was originally a residence of Shigeomi, but in 1841, Tokugawa Nariaki opened the clan school Kodokan. This park was created on the north side of the Kodokan. The highlights of this park are the earthworks and moat on the north side. It is not a restored one, but it still exists as it was at that time. Of course, it will be weathered and the shape will change. This is the true site of Mito Castle.

It was a so-called comprehensive university that trained the feudal lords in Bunbu and incorporated a wide range of disciplines such as medicine, Dutch studies, astronomy, and kagaku. A part of it is still preserved and it has become a national special historic site as the former Kodokan, and the main gate, the main office, and the Supreme Hall are designated as national important cultural properties. At the site, 800 plum trees of about 60 varieties are planted as Kodokan Park, which is a famous spot for plum blossoms. S	S Y on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The most famous Confucian school during the Edo period, this is where the conservative scholars and samurais promoted the doctrine of "sonnō jyōi" which means to respect the emperor and kick out the "barbarians"...The political and philosophical doctrines of the school were heavily influenced by a Chinese confucianism scholar named Zhu Zhiyu or Zhu Shunshui who fled from China after the Manchu conquest of China. The school is well preserved, the old ladies who worked there were helpful. But I wouldn't recommend this place unless you are interested in the history of Bakumatsu.
