Kodahachimangu - Hachinohe

You can feel the history of Bishamonten, Koyasu Shrine, Yoshitsune, etc.

Every year, I am indebted to Hatsumode and Dontoyaki. There is a merit because I can spend it without much mistake.

This is Hachimangu, which is located in Oda, Hachinohe City. It is said that in the Tenki years of the Heian period (1046-1057), Minamoto no Yoriyoshi, who was appointed general guardian of the guardian government, entrusted Hachimanjin to rule the Mutsu no Kuni, and decided to guard it. Niomon is an eight-legged gate built by Sanma Ichinohe Iruma-ya, which was built between 1952 and Kaei 7 (1845-54), and is a tangible cultural property designated by Hachinohe City. Thank you very much for receiving the red stamp of "Oda Hachimangu".

It is a shrine that stands in a place where Yoshitsune was said to have opened a field when he moved with his servants. It seems to be a key point in the north of Hachinohe City, and the gate at the back of the torii is ruggedly built with pillars.

20201001 I went to the 4th Kabushima Shrine & Hachinohe area shrine bullet tour for the first time in half a year! I left the Ibaraki field office on the evening of 9/30 and arrived safely at Misawa before dawn on 10/1! Today is a moving day, so you can use it freely! Take a short nap, have breakfast, and leave Misawa for Kabushima Shrine! When I got off the highway and ran a little, there was a 7-Eleven at the Oda intersection, so when I stopped by to buy coffee, I stopped by because Oda Hachimangu was sitting next to me! The parking lot of Seven-Eleven is now shared with Kodahachimangu! Although it was unmanned on weekdays, the precincts were swept clean! It's small, but it's a magnificent Hachimangu shrine! 20201115 I went to the 5th Kabushima Shrine & Hachinohe area shrine bullet tour! It was sunny in Misawa, so I finished washing and left at 9:00, bought coffee at Seven-Eleven in Oda, and stopped by next door, Kodahachimangu! Several pairs of Shichigosan pilgrimage parents and children were worshiping!

It's good as a shrine, but the parking lot is the same as Seven-Eleven, so it's full of cars for the first time. I think it's annoying to those who just want to stop by 7-Eleven! Is the owner of Seven-Eleven the priest of Kodahachimangu? I think it's good that the 7-Eleven side will shop for the first visit!

A sanctuary that is indispensable as a guardian of the north of Hachinohe. A sacred place with a strong legend of Yoshitsune Kitayuki, with the hills of Takadachi in the background. It was Bishamon-do, which enshrines the Bishamon Ten statue carrying Hachiman God on the back, which is said to have been brought from Kurama by Yoshitsune during the feudal era. Bishamonten is another name for Tamonten of the four heavenly kings, and Tamonten is the guardian deity of the north, so it was really right. The reason why Hachiman God was separated from Bishamonten statue at the time of the abolition of Buddha in the Meiji era and survived as Hachimangu. Although it is a shrine, it has an eight-legged gate, which is the Niomon gate, and the first set of Aun guardian dogs is placed in front of the gate. After passing through the gate, there is a Chozuya, where you can finish the water and cross the gourd pond with water lilies to enter the sanctuary. Speaking of Buddhism, it feels like entering the Pure Land. There are three pairs of guardian dogs, the second pair is located in the middle of the approach and the third pair is located just before the hall of worship. There is also a sculpture of a guardian dog on the nose of the upper part of the worship pillar, so it may be said that there are 4 pairs. Near the gourd pond on the left, there is a Kagura hall, a monument to the soul, a Yoshitsune hall, and on the left side of the worship hall, there is a Mizuya (spring water from the hillside behind, unfortunately not drinkable) Ryujin and Jizo Bodhisattva. Behind the main shrine is our forest on a hilly slope, which is managed by the Bettogawa village family. There is a shrine office near the gourd pond on the right side of the precincts, and on the far left is the two pillar shrine that enshrines Daikokuten and Sozenjin, and behind that is the approach to the votive tablet and Bishamon-do. Cross the small bridge of the red balustrade to Bishamon-do. Bishamon-do is located on the hillside, with Koyasu-do in between.
