Kiyone Station - Soja

A branch station of Hakubi Line and Ihara Railway. JR is unmanned and the ticket gates of Ibara Railway stand at the ticket gates for a limited time. Originally, the Ibara Railway was positioned as an extension of the Kibi Line and was laid down in 1966 (Showa 41), but construction was suspended due to the Japanese National Railways Reconstruction Law in 1980 (Showa 55). After that, it opened in 1986 (Showa 61) as the third sector Ibara Railway. At Kiyone Station, it is a transfer gate from Kurashiki to Okayama, and at Soja Station, communication with the Kibi Line train is considered. Tickets such as Super Holiday Pass can also be purchased from the driver.

Visited Ibara Railway on a trip to Tetsuincho. I arrived from Kurashiki station on the JR Hakubi line and changed to the Ibara railway here at Kiyone station. The Ibara Railway platform is on the same side as the JR Kurashiki / Okayama platform. When changing trains, use the manned ticket gates for Ibara Railway, and use the automatic ticket gates and ticket vending machines that touch the IC card for JR.
