★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 鴻沼(高沼)(こうぬま)用水の上に蓋をして暗渠(アンキョ)になっていて、そこが遊歩道として整備されています。
中山道と高沼用水がクロスする場所は、高沼橋が架かっていますが、道路で蓋をされているので、その下に橋があることは、誰も気が付きません。
しかし、中山道西側の道路脇に、赤いレンガ造りの橋と高沼用水が僅かに顔を見せているので、確認してみて欲しい。(フェンスに囲まれていて中には入れない)
鴻沼(高沼)用水は、
8代将軍徳川吉宗が享保13年(1728)に見沼代用水西縁を掘削した際に掘られた灌漑用水です。
時代の流れとともに役割を終えた用水路ですが、遊歩道として新しい役割を担っています。
A lid is placed on the Kounuma irrigation water to form an underdrain, which is maintained as a promenade.
The Takanuma Bridge is built at the intersection of Nakasendo and Takanuma Waterway, but no one notices that there is a bridge under it because it is covered by the road.
However, a red brick bridge and Takanuma irrigation water are slightly visible on the west side of the Nakasendo road, so please check it. (It is surrounded by a fence and cannot be entered)

This is irrigation water dug when the 8th Shogun Yoshimune Tokugawa excavated the western edge of Minuma Substitute Water in 1728.
Although the irrigation canal has finished its role with the passage of time, it is playing a new role as a promenade.
