It is an old temple. The view from the main hall is good. There is a big statue of Nio in the main hall!

You can drive up to Kinrinji Temple, which is in front of the summit of Mt. Kannoozan, but it is a fairly narrow road. If you climb a little from the back of the temple, you will find the ruins of Mt. Kannoozan Castle.

Kinrinji is a temple of the Tendai sect Shugendo, which was built in the Kamakura period. There is a five-storied pagoda in the precincts of the Kamakura period, which is designated as a national important cultural property. It is wonderful with the forest including the ruins of the mountain castle behind the magnificent temple.

It starts from Miyagawa Shrine and is on the way to Mt. Kamio by trekking. The way back was a paved road, but when I finally arrived at the temple after climbing the mountain road, I was surprised that people were living there. Talking to the chief priest made me feel that my mind and body were cleansed. The air when I took off the mask and took a deep breath was really delicious.

If you are driving, the access road is long, but sealed (concrete). Car-parking isn't abundant, but as not many people come this way, it is adequate. In addition to the temple itself, this is a good base from which to hike to Mt. Hangokusan to the west. In the past, there were further structures to the rear of the current temple, but these have long since vanished.
