★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 舞楽面は，白山神社に伝わる陵王と納曽利の面である。陵王が室町時代の，納曽利が室町時代末から江戸時代初めにかけて制作されたものである。一部欠損や表面の漆箔・白土の剥落，後補などがみられるものの，仙台市内に唯一残る舞楽に使用されてきた面として貴重な資料である。口伝によれば，山形県立石寺（山寺）から分けられたもので，行基上人が彫ったと伝えられ，江戸時代後期の「奥州名所図会」にも，「龍王，納蘇利（古来，行基僧正が彫める舞面を被り舞ふ）その形姿，甚だ古雅なり」と記されている。4月の白山神社例祭では，この面を付けた舞楽が奉納されていた。

According to the oral tradition, it was separated from Yamagata Prefectural Ishidera (Yamadera), and it is said that it was carved by Gyoki, and in the "Oshu Meisho Zue" in the latter half of the Edo period, "Ryuo, Gyoki (ancient times, Gyoki) (Wearing the dance face carved by the priest) Its shape is extremely old and elegant. " At the Hakusan Shrine annual festival in April, a dance with this face was dedicated.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 国分寺18伽藍の1つで牛頭天王を祀っていたそう。キュウリを奉納していただとか、おみこしを河原町の須賀神社まで担いで広瀬川に入っていっただとか、カッパ様のような扱いなのが可愛らしい。巫女舞なども行っていたそうで、当時の祭りを一度は見てみたかった。
