★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very cozy environment with various interesting appetizers, beatiful sushi and most of all, mouth watering unagi. There are only 3 two-person and a sushi bar on the ground level, but more seatings in the basement.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a restaurant specializes in Unagi. The standard Unagi over rice set comes with selection of 3 grades of Unagi. We ordered all 3 grades and there are distinct differences. The highest grade Unagi is is fine and melt in your mouth texture. The standard grade is good, just not as refined as the top grade. This shop knows what it is doing, each meal is prepared fresh and there's a waiting time if 30 mins. Prices are similar to Narita Eel restaurants. Reasonable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This Unagi-don restaurant is in the opposite side of Shinjuku, 5-8mins walk from the tourist area. We ordered the Unagi set, and took around 30mins to cook. We also ordered grill eel skin & Unagi egg roll. The taste is amazing, but price is abit expensive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The stars are only for the Unagi Don and service. The Tuna Sashimi even have icy core. Bone cracker is bland and maybe not even freshly fried to order.
But the unagi don is the best I have ever tasted.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very happy with my “Matsu” unajyu. The eels are from Japan, the rice is not too sweet and the eels do not have a “chemical” smell like some of the cheaper ones do. If you like Unagi then go here. But the restaurant is tiny.
