It is a parking lot near the Yamba viewing platform and the restaurant. If you want to take a walk on the Yamba dam, it is easier to drive to the parking lot in front of the teahouse below.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 私、ダムのファンでなければマニアでもありません。ただ、八ッ場ダムに関しては15年来繰り返し見にやって来ました。
これ程、世論を沸かせたダムはありませんでした。
(民主党政権下での凍結騒ぎも、有りました)
天端の設備もまだ完成していない2019年10月には、関東域が激しい台風に襲われてしまいました。その記憶は、まだ生々しいわけです。
けれども、 一年かけて試験堪水を行いながらダム本体の出来上がりを判断するべきところを、たったの一昼夜でダム湖が満水になってしまったのです❗️
重力式ダム本体が、上流域からの水圧に本当に耐えられるかどうかの、試験期間が必要な訳なんです！本体のみだけでなくて、両側の岩盤との関係にしても複雑な問題なわけですよね。
ホントに驚きました。
元々、上流域が広すぎて水は貯まらないのではないか？とまで言われて来たのに、堪水するのもアッという間の出来事だったわけで、凄すぎると思いました。
予測もつかない濁流を、受け止めきった、この技術力と現場の方々の努力に賛辞を贈ります。
これ程ドラマチックなダムを知りません。

In October 2019, when the equipment at the top was not yet completed, the Kanto region was hit by a severe typhoon. That memory is still fresh.
However, the dam lake was filled with water in just one day and night, where it was necessary to judge the completion of the dam body while conducting a test watering over a year ❗️
It takes a test period to see if the gravity dam body can really withstand the water pressure from the upstream area! It's a complicated problem not only for the main body but also for the relationship with the rocks on both sides.
I was really surprised.
Isn't the upstream area too wide to store water? Even though I was told, it was an instant event to enjoy the water, so I thought it was too amazing.
We would like to commend this technical ability and the efforts of the people in the field who have accepted the unpredictable muddy stream.
I don't know such a dramatic dam.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 小高い見放台に近い駐車場です。広くないので台数はあまり止められません。なお、近くに食事(うどん そば)のできるお店もあります。見放台にはダムを望めて鐘がつけるのでカップルに良い記念になると思います。また、近くの橋にバンジージャンプらしき施設を見つけました。橋の上を歩いていると自衛隊の飛行機が二機上空を飛んで行きました(ダムのちょっと先で大きく右に旋回して行きました)この時は新緑前でしたが緑の多い時期はもっと素晴らしい景色が楽しめますね?
It is a parking lot close to a slightly elevated platform. Because it is not wide, the number of cars cannot be stopped. There are also restaurants near the restaurant where you can have meals (Udon soba). The open-air platform has a bell with a view of the dam, so I think it will be a good memorial to the couple. I also found a bungee jump facility on a nearby bridge. When I was walking on the bridge, two Self-Defense Forces planes flew over the plane (I made a big turn to the right a little ahead of the dam). You can enjoy a more wonderful view ?
