Kawara-machi Historic Street - Gifu

One of Gifu's tourist attractions, you can enjoy the old townscape [Kawahara Town]. This area, which is lined with old-fashioned Japanese houses with a long depth in a narrow frontage, once prospered as a river port using the water transport of the Nagara River, and was crowded with many shops. Even now, shops that manufacture and sell traditional crafts "Gifu fans" and Japanese sweets shops known for Gifu famous confectionery "Ayu sweets" are still open with a retro atmosphere. In addition, modern shops such as restaurants that have been renovated from Machiya have appeared in recent years! Gifu is a cormorant fishing! !! It is held every night from May 11th to October 15th, except for the cormorant fishing holiday (one day around the mid-autumn month) and the flood. It's not the cormorant fishing season now, but Kawaramachi can be enjoyed all year round ♩ And you can see the cormorant fishing and the tour boat used for cormorant fishing all year round! In addition, the long-established inn "Juhachiro", which has been in business for 160 years, is also located in Kawaramachi. "Kawahara Machiya" is marked by a red mailbox ♬ Bank ATMs are also wonderful in Kawaramachi! It should be noted that it is a regular holiday! It seems that many shops are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I love this kind of cityscape and am walking around, but this is also a wonderful cityscape. It hit on a heavy snowy day, but the taste increased and the result was good. I walked from the Nagara River side, crossed the Kasumi Bridge, and headed for Gifu Park, but I recommend it as a course because you can take a walk while looking at the three-storied pagoda and Gifu Castle.
