I got regular tonkatsu and my husband got the Kinka pork meat. The meat was super tender and juicy. The flavor was delicious. Speciality pork meat is offered in limited quantities so depending on the time of the day they might not be available. Each dish is offered in different sizes of meat grams (different prices too). For sauces, there is a variety available: spicy sauce and home made sauce for the tonkatsu, yuzu sauce for the cabbage and marinated pickles. A cute and delicious side entree was offered too. You can ask for seconds for rice, cabbage and tea. This was our last lunch in Japan and it was worth it!

Not too long in queue since already over lunch time.. very friendly with child. Eventhough they put me and my toddler (1.5y) in bar station they already prepared chair that can attach to bar station. Good tonkatsu (the crispy is nice but it just ok for me). The one that make me amaze is the dressing for salad. Amazingly very good. I never ate my salad in any katsu restaurant but they really nailed it. If you like yuzu or a bit sour dressing , you really have to tried it in here. Having a second time thought of coming back just to buy the dressing sauce . Have a lovely kids meal set. They prepared cuttlery for the kid also.

If time and money aren't factors in your quest for Tonkatsu perfection, Katsurkura may very well be the closest thing. The reference to money shouldn't be associated with an exorbitant price tag, only that you'll be paying a little more for premium cuts of pork. And as for time, we waited over 30 minutes (dinner service). The queue was long, which only had us salivating with anticipation. While you wait, the owner, a sweet old man will go through the types of pork cuts and validate why the price reflects the premium quality. Between the table we ordered all possible cuts and grades of pork. Each as good as the next. But to be honest aside from one cut being more tender than another, it was hard to differentiate the lingering sweet taste explained earlier. Everything that touched the table was thoroughly enjoyed among the group, from the starters, mains and blending your own sauce/dip. The experience was memorable and English speaking staff enhanced our expectations.

For an extremely satisfying meal, come to Katsukura. We visited early on a weekday and got a table easily. The manager and servers speak some english a bonus. They have some limited items like the Kinka Pork katsu which I ordered a 200g set of. The katsu sauce is all on the table, they have mild and hot sauce. Also the salad dressing is already on the table too. The food was delicious and filling. Pork was tender and matched their sauce well. It is a really great lunch. Also tried their 900yen sake taster and it came with 3 super smooth sake. Really enjoyed it. Overall great experience, great food, great service, highly recommended and would repeat.

Crispy tonkatsu that comes with barley rice, miso soup and cabbage salad. The yuzu dressing for the cabbage is amazing. You gwt to make your own sauce by grinding seasame seeds and adding eithe original or spicy sauce. The miso soup is amazing and the tonkatsu was amazing. It's a tad on the pricier side but great quality. The regular pork is a little tougher than the Berkshire pork. Friendly english speaking service.

Delicious food! Pricey, but worth the money. The sets all come with rice, miso soup, cabbage and sesame for the dipping sauce. Unlimited refills for rice, miso soup and cabbage! Tonkatsu is crispy and not at all oily or heavy. Crab croquette is also very good too. Creamy and full of crab flavour. Chicken katsu very tender and juicy. Miso soup is honestly amazing. Full of loads of different veggies! If you want to try the more fancy expensive cuts of pork. Go earlier in the day as they get sold out.

Amazing tonkatsu. They have lots of different pork cuts at different prices so you can go as high end or low end as you want. There's a few fish and a veggie option as well. There's an English menu and if you've never tried tonkatsu the staff will show you how to grind sesame to make the sauce. All dishes come with unlimited rice and cabbage as well if you want to fill up! It's a really chill place to escape the craziness of Shinjuku, although popular so there may be a queue. On our first trip to Tokyo in 2016 we visited on a weekday lunchtime and got in straight away, but on our latest visit in 2019 we came on a Sunday and although we arrived right at opening there was already a line.
