★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 55tもの巨石を積み上げた石室が見事な古墳です。中は一年中温度が一定で、夏はとてもヒンヤリしていて気持ちいいです。民家の間に突然現れるその姿は、一見しても前方後円墳とは分かりにくく、上に上がれる道もあり、墓だった場所にいいのかなと思いながら上りました。あとで資料館のかたに尋ねると、よいのだそうです。
The burial mound with 55 tons of huge stones is a wonderful tomb. The temperature is constant throughout the year, and it feels very refreshing in the summer. The appearance that suddenly appeared between the private houses was difficult to understand at first glance at the front and rear tumuli, and there was also a way to go up, so I wondered if it would be a good place for the tomb. Later I asked the person in the museum that it would be good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 6世紀末～7世紀初頭の古墳にしては、段築が多く、葺石、埴輪も伴っています。重さ10ｔ以上の巨石を使用した石室の床面には金色の品々が並べられていたと思うと、被葬者の事をもっと知りたくなりますね。
因みに、石室内からは300点以上の遺物が見つかっています。
The tumuli of the late 6th and early 7th centuries have many steps, with roofing stones and haniwa. If you think that there are gold items on the floor of a stone room made of megaliths weighing more than 10 tons, you will want to know more about the burial.
By the way, more than 300 relics have been found in the stone chamber.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 古墳時代後期の6世紀末に造られた前方後円墳で、群馬県内では最後に造られた、大型前方後円墳と考えられています。
石室は羨道を持つ両袖型で、天井石に使用された大型の岩はタタミ6畳よりも広く、重さは約60トンであると推定されています。
昭和20年に、防空壕を掘っていた地元の人々によって石室が偶然発見されたため、盗掘を免れています。
資料館が併設されていますので、出土品を見学することも可能です。
This is a front-rear round bud that was built at the end of the 6th century in the latter half of the Kofun period.
The stone chamber is a double-sleeved type with a tunnel, and the large rock used for the ceiling stone is wider than the Tatami 6 tatami mat and is estimated to weigh about 60 tons.
In 1945, the stone room was discovered by chance by local people who were digging air defense fences, so they were spared from theft.
A museum is also available, so you can visit excavated items.

石室内に、いつでも自由に入る事が出来ます。玄室は、真夏でもヒンヤリしていて、屈まずに普通に立っていられる広さ・高さがあり、使われた石の巨大さにも圧倒されます。
徒歩2分の所に、観音塚古墳資料館(大人100円)があり、そこに車を置かせて頂き、まずお勉強してから古墳の見学をする事をオススメします。
また資料館では、石室見学用に懐中電灯のレンタルサービスを行っております。
It is a front burial mound located in the middle of a residential area.
You can enter the stone room freely at any time. The entrance room is shining even in the middle of summer, and it has an area and height that allows it to stand normally without bending, and it is overwhelmed by the huge size of the stones used.
A 2-minute walk is the Kannonzuka Tumulus Museum (100 yen for adults). We recommend that you park your car there and study first before visiting the Tumulus.
In addition, at the museum, we offer a flashlight rental service for visiting the stone room.

墳丘全長約97メートル横穴式石室でこの横穴式石室には巨石が使用されていますがこの地域では使用されていたことはなく他地域からの技術とされています
石室は東日本一大きく天井に使われた石材は５０トン
私は順番が逆で借りられませんでしたが隣の観音塚考古資料館で伝えると懐中電灯を貸して下さるそうです

I couldn't borrow it in the reverse order, but when I told him at the Kannonzuka Archaeological Museum next door, he would lend me a flashlight.
