★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 明治時代ここの銀山は重要だったらしい。大久保利通らも来たみたい。近くに西洋松が生えていたから珍しい。
It seems that the silver mine here was important in the Meiji era. It seems that Toshimichi Okubo and others have also come. It is rare because there was a western pine tree nearby.

明治天皇行巡幸にかかわって
整理した明治天皇行幸記念碑がここにある！＼(^o^)／
ここは元々、弘成館の精錬場跡らしく!
弘成館とは“五代 友厚”が明治６年につくった全国の鉱山の管理事務所とのこと。
商売の街大阪の基盤をつくったと言っても過言ではない“五代 友厚”の名が遠く離れた東北の地で聞くとは、いやはやビックリでしたｗ
五代友厚って歴史に埋もれた偉人だと
私は勝手に思ってます(^^;;

話を本題に戻します 笑
こちらの事をシッカリ調べないまま投稿してるので私の拙い推測になりますがっ！
ご勘弁を(^_^;)
明治天皇が二度もこちらへ行幸にこられるとゆー事は、よっぽど重要な場所だったと推察します
現代と違い
インフラもロクに整ってない明治期に遥か東京（皇居）から福島までの長い道のりは決して楽な行幸ではなかったでしょうに…それでも二度も訪れてるのですからね
主に重要な場所は
近くにある半田銀鉱山に重点を置かれて視察に来たんでしょうよ！
大量の銀が採掘されるここは明治期の経済を発展させる上でも最重要地域と思ってたのではないでしょうか？

Originally, it seems to be the remains of the Koseikan refinery!
Koseikan is a mine management office nationwide created by Tomoatsu Godai in 1868.
It's no exaggeration to say that the foundation of Osaka, the city of business, was created. It was no surprise to hear it in the Tohoku region, where the name "Tomoatsu Godai" is far away.
Tomo Godai is a great man buried in history

I'm posting this without checking it out, so it's my poor guess!
Forgive me (^_^;)
When the Emperor Meiji was visited here twice, I think it was a very important place.
Unlike today
The long way from Tokyo (Imperial Palace) to Fukushima in the Meiji era, when the infrastructure wasn't perfect, would have never been an easy trip... Still, I've visited twice.
Mainly important places
You probably came to the site with an emphasis on the nearby Handa Silver Mine!
Did you think that this area where a large amount of silver is mined is the most important area in developing the economy of the Meiji period?
How is it like this? (˘︶˘)...:*♡

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 説明の看板と石垣しか残っていませんが、自然石がお城の石垣のような綺麗な弧を描く隅角部が良いですね。
以前にネットで現役時代の写真を見かけた記憶があるので、説明看板にそうした写真も付けて貰えると完璧です。
Only the signboard and the stone wall that are explained remain, but the corners where natural stones draw a beautiful arc like the stone wall of a castle are good.
I remember seeing photos from the days when I was active, so it would be perfect if you could attach such photos to the explanation sign.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 朝ドラと大河ドラマでディーンフジオカさんが演じていた五代友厚とその養子の龍作さんを祭った記念碑がありました。福島県桑折町にある半田銀山を日本一にしたオーナーへの尊敬の思いを感じました。
There was a monument dedicated to Tomoatsu Godai and his adopted son, Ryusaku, who was played by Dean Fujioka in the morning drama and the taiga drama. I felt respect for the owner who made the Handa Silver Mine in Koori Town, Fukushima Prefecture the best in Japan.
