★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 駐車場横には満開の九輪草の群生が見られました。苔むした石段や樹木、かっては56の堂宇、200もの僧房があったとか。明智光秀の丹波攻めで焼き討ちにあい、今はアカガシの落葉に埋もれた広い敷地と瓦の残骸が当時をおもわせる。妙高山には最上部の本堂左から登山道に入る。30分ほどで頂上につく。

春日神社(春日町野村1358)の霊代をうつしたところ
↓春日神社について
同社の創建年代は不詳だが、古くはこの地方が大和の春日大社の荘園であったことから春日四座ほかを勧請し、春日部荘・船城荘（現在の春日町のほぼ全域）の総社として崇敬をあつめていたらしい。最も古い記録には「文亀年中(1501～1503）に近郷11ヵ村立会祭例を勤め、六つ塚で能を興行す」とあり、天正年間に明智光秀が黒井城を攻めたとき霊代を神池寺へ移して社殿をこわしたという記録もあり、現社殿は江戸時代初期に造立したものと推定されている。
社殿は正面五間・側面二面の五間社流造、屋根は切妻で、前方の流れを延長して向拝の屋根とする流造で、いわゆる「五間社流造」である。
屋根は総檜皮葺き、土壇は平易で自然石の礎石を並べ、母屋内部は内・外陣に分け内陣は一間ごとに間仕切して5室とし相殿神を祀る形式をとる。総体に過剰装飾をさけて全体の調和を考え、建築様式や木割・彫刻・絵様・繰形などの細部手法から、中世の流造様式を忠実に継承しながら地方色・後代の時代的特徴を加味している。

The main shrine is a five-storied shrine with two front and two sides, and the roof is a gable, and the front flow is extended to make it a roof for worship.
The roof is covered with cypress bark, the foundation stones are plain and natural stones are lined up, and the inner part of the main house is divided into inner and outer camps. Considering the overall harmony by avoiding over-decoration on the whole, local colors and historical characteristics of later generations while faithfully inheriting the medieval style from the architectural style and detailed methods such as wood splitting, sculpture, painting, and molding.
