★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ２０２０年８月訪問。第二トンネルまでの道路や永昌寺トンネルが昨年１０２５豪雨の影響で通行止めとなっている中、こちらは通常通りの交通路として機能していました。
他のトンネル同様全然素掘りの観音彫りのトンネルで形状的にはかなり格好よかったです。
 Visited in August 2020. While the road to the second tunnel and the Eishoji temple tunnel were closed due to the heavy rain of 1025 last year, this was functioning as a normal traffic route.
Like all other tunnels, it was a completely unearthed Kannon carving tunnel and it was pretty cool in shape.

緑の中に五角形のトンネルが良いです。
2021/10/17 ここまでは道に問題ないですが、柿木台第二トンネルから先は、竹が結構倒れてたりして車で通るのは覚悟がいります。
The inside of the tunnel is so beautiful that you can't think it's hand-carved.
A pentagonal tunnel in the green is good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ トンネル自体もとても雰囲気ありますが、ここにたどり着くまでの道や景色も大変素晴らしい。
ただ、道はほぼ一車線なので、車ですれ違いなどに気を遣うと思います。
The tunnel itself has a very atmosphere, but the road and scenery to get here are also very nice.
However, the road is almost one lane, so I think you should be careful about passing each other by car.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 真高寺・飯給駅方面から田舎道をひたすら歩くとこのトンネルに出会えます。途中の踏切は「きしゃにちゅうい！」とある。今でもごくたまに走ることはあるのだろうか？
トンネルは将棋の駒のような観音掘りという工法だそうで、真夏でも涼しく蛍光灯の光が縞々模様を描きます。永昌寺トンネルとよく似ていますが、こちらの方が少し天井が高くてきれいな感じがします。
※このトンネルのう回路というべき古道が（地図右側の）集落内にあります。画像の古い石仏（手掘りの祠に安置されています。）はそこにありますので探してみては？
集落内にも手掘りの隧道（排水路？）などもあって面白いです。飯給側から来た場合、トンネル手前にあるお墓（ごみ集積所）が目印です。そこを左折してください。
You can meet this tunnel by walking along the country road from the direction of Mataka Temple / Itabu Station. The railroad crossing on the way says "Kishanichui!". Do you still run very occasionally?
It seems that the tunnel is a construction method called Kannon digging like a piece of shogi, and even in the middle of summer it is cool and the light of the fluorescent lamp draws a striped pattern. It's very similar to the Eishoji tunnel, but it has a slightly higher ceiling and feels more beautiful.
* There is an old road (on the right side of the map) in the village, which should be called the tunnel circuit. The old stone Buddha in the image (enshrined in a hand-dug shrine) is there, so why not look for it?
There is also a hand-dug tunnel (drainage channel?) In the village, which is interesting. If you come from the Itabu side, the grave (garbage collection point) in front of the tunnel is a landmark. Please turn left there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 第一、第二、永昌寺トンネルと一本道です。道は狭くてカーブも多いので要注意ですが、トンネルの案内板や照明はしっかりしてます。
手彫りの跡も、将棋の駒の形も典型的な千葉のトンネルという感じですね。
The first, second, and Eishoji tunnels and one straight road. The road is narrow and there are many curves, so be careful, but the information boards and lighting of the tunnel are solid.
The hand-carved marks and the shape of the shogi pieces are typical of a Chiba tunnel.
