Since the lotus pond is a beautiful temple of Masaki's favorite, it seems to be a famous place for autumn leaves, so I visited it in mid-November. However, I was disappointed when I came for the purpose of autumn leaves. There weren't many things to see, so I ended up seeing it right away. It was a mistake to think that the admission fee of ¥ 400 was conscientious. The lotus pond was, of course, withered. I would like to visit again when the lotus is in full bloom.

Quiet place. Not popular but a good spot to enjoy wisteria in spring.

Quiet, beautiful setting, not crowded. Easy to access from Keihan subway or JR Yamashina station.

Spring is the best time to visit this slightly out of the way temple. The garden is unusual as it is a stroll-thru, as opposed to most other temple gardens which are made for viewing only. There is a pond too and a whole load of cherry trees which you are able to enjoy without the inevitable crowds biting at your heels. All in all a good experience but I'm not sure if it's worth a visit outside the Spring and Autumn seasons.

A beautiful garden and scenic pond with a small temple on-site. It was very quiet when we visited. Get here from the Ono stop, one stop before Daigo-ji. We found our way here by accident, but we were so glad we came. A wonderful woman showed us the way to this place and then helped us get back to the train and on to Daigo-ji. Stop by for a visit, you won't regret it!

The momiji are gorgeous and there are winter blooming Sakura as of November 17. There were 2 bloomed hydrangeas on November 17 as well, which was a surprise to me. On March 9, there were kawazu (early blooming sakura). On April 1, there were full-bloomed さくら?.
