Legend has it that Ushiwakamaru stopped by when he left for Oshu.
Therefore, it seems that they are worshiped for the protection of departure and independence.
When I visited in early April, the peach blossoms were in full bloom and very beautiful ?

Kadode Hachimagu Shrine A shrine that Gen Yoshitsune prayed for when he went to Oshu. It feels small. Revered as a shrine for travel safety. It is said that the beginning was the solicitation of Hachiman Ojin from Usa Jingu, and the deities are Houda Betsuson (Emperor Ojin), Hime Ojin, and Himemei (Empress Jingu). It is said that on March 3, 1174, when Yoshitsune Gen went to Oshu Hiraizumi, he went to our company from Kuramayama with the help of Yoshiji and prayed for the safety of the road. There is. "Kadode" means "departure", and it is said that it came to be called "Kadodehachimangu" due to this history. Well, if you trace the history of Yoshitsune after that, I feel a little unhappy. .. (Is it okay because I'm safely in Oshu?)

I have been worshiping because there is a god related to travel. It's a small shrine in a residential area, so it's safer to go while checking the location on Google Maps. It's a small precinct, so I don't think it will take much time. There are many buses, so I think it's easy to access.

Minamoto no Yoshitsune I visited Kadodehachimangu, the place of departure from Oshu. Although it is a small palace, it has a nice atmosphere.

A place where Minamoto no Yoshitsune, also known as Ushiwakamaru, prayed for safety along the way when he left for Oshu.
At that time, it was called "Uchino Hachimangu", but from this history it came to be called "Shudou" which means departure.
I was also surprised that there is no Hachiman Shrine from Mt. Kurama to the area.
The precincts are narrowed, and the red stamp has a writing book, so do it yourself.

A shrine related to Minamoto no Yoshitsune.
He prayed for safety along the way when he left for Oshu.
No way there was such a place in the neighborhood.
Kyoto has a history everywhere.

I visited on November 2, 2009.
Read "Kadodehachimangu" → "Kadodehachimangu".
In this area, there was a mansion of Kaneuri Kichiji, a merchant in the Heian period, and it was enshrined as a guardian shrine.
In addition, it is located in the northeast of the Gosho and has long been called "Uchino Tenmangu" as a shrine for the protection of the royal castle.
Ushiwakamaru (Minamoto no Yoshitsune) prayed to "Uchino Tenmangu" for the safety of the road when he left for Oshu.
"Kadode" means "departure", and it came to be called "Kadodehachimangu" because of its origin.
For this reason, it is worshiped as the guardian deity of travel safety.
Although it was in the city, there was a main shrine in a small mountain-like place with trees and a small high place up the stairs.
The red stamp was placed at the office next to the main shrine along with the gift.
Since it was unmanned, the date is not entered.
Also, there are pigeon motifs here and there, and I was absorbed in searching.
In particular, the pigeons that drain water from the mouth of the Chozuya are real and cute ❤❤

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is called Kadode Hachimangu Shrine located just south of Honryuji slightly north of Imadegawa street. This place holds a speial meaning from classic literature and custom of Heian Period. The shrine took its name from Minamoto-no Yoshitsune who made his visit to this shrine right before his great departure to Oshu in his time. The shrine used to be a guardian shrine of Imperial Palace, but currently it is more commonly known as a shrine to visit for the ones who is about to make a big turning point in life as one's kadode ( Fresh start ). There is a nice park equipped with flower garden + water fountain right next to the shrine where you can take a break on your way. Walk through a narrow path next to this park to get to the shrine. Notice those chochin lanters haning above. Visiting April is highly recommended for the blooming season of rare species of peach along with sakura of Uho-in and Honryuji. It is just 1 minute walk to south from Honryuji. ( Trans-word+ : TGM Kyoto Guide )
