The remains of the great tsunami caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake remain here. To be correct, it is the site of a temple before the Great East Japan Earthquake.

The only temple in Sendai that was completely destroyed by the tsunami caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake and designated as a disaster risk area. After the earthquake, it was rebuilt in the west of Arai Kamiyashiki in the same district, about 2 km inland. About 140 people were killed by the Dan family. The main hall was used for the first time in the memorial service for the 7th anniversary of the earthquake on the 11th. The main hall is 11.5m high and has a main building with a thatched copper roof. The site of about 2440 square meters faces the prefectural road Arahama Haramachi Line leading to Arahama. Donations from the Dan family were used for reconstruction costs, and the principal idol, Amida Nyorai, was donated by the connected Sadabayashi-in Temple (Tokyo). The graveyard was left on the site of Arahama.

Most of the functions of Jyodo-ji are transferred near the eastern road. A temporary main hall prefab is held here, and it is an enclave of Jyodo-ji. It is still the same as being a temple. I will not be able to see the future because there will be some difficult issues regarding whether it will be a post-earthquake ruin from being a religious corporation, whether it will be restored, it will be withdrawn, or how to treat the monument. There were ten stone towers of symbols here. There is a meaning of the memorial tower, and it is thought that the law, such as the stables, the scrolls, and the shokei was paid, but there is no trace. Stone lanterns are also placed crumbled. The stone garden that represents the water that seems like a temple on Arahama remains disordered. I think that it would be preferable to relocate it to Shinjodoji because it does not think that the stone of the garden will be a post-quake earthquake remains. As long as the monument remains, it will have to be maintained as it is. It seems that there was a temple in the back of the stone and Buddha, but it is a current situation, so it is awkward to decide whether it should be relocated. It is not correct not to put your hand on it. It is important to visit here and think.
