I called and asked if the gym was available for 1 day, but when I arrived i was told this was not so . I spoke Japanese on the phone but when they saw I was gaijin I was not welcome. THIS GYM IS RACIST IN IS POLICY why did they waste my time ...the facility is also all teeth and no tail too much flluff for no actual gym facility

I had the worst experience with the personnel of this Jexer Shinjuku Gym since I have moved to Tokyo. They rejected to give me a membership because I do not have the Japanese resident card although I tried to explain to them my status as the official visa. The rejection is not what offended me, I didn't try to push it or anything, but the personnel showed obvious discrimination against foreigners, which I find offensive and unacceptable. They also claimed that Jexer is a special gym unlike Gold Gym or others so they told me to go apply for an membership to these gyms. Anyway, I just posted my review here to share experience. I am sure and I hope people, particular foreigners, would not have to go through the same experience I got from them.

Nice gym over 3 floors. Cardio, weights, kickboxing classes, pool, sauna. 1 & 2 day passes available. They also rent shoes / gym wear and towels. I paid ~$23 all-in for the 1 day pass + shoes/towel.

Beware! It's not a sports complex, it's a bank, and they're looking to ruin you. Let me explain. Facilities are great but... the financial concept of the gym is a complete scam: they force you to apply and get their Jexer View credit card to access the gym facilities. If you don't have their view credit card, you can't go to the gym. And you should know that credit cards will ruin you in the longer run. Those are the cigarettes of the financial world. Never ever saw that in my life: a gym that forces you to get their credit card as a condition to work out... Stay away of the financial devil is my advice lol. Place is also full of not-so-young people (definitely a majority of their customers), so if you like the company of 70+ year-old gym buddies, this place is for you.

Nice and classy fitness center near Shinjuku station and Hotel Sunroute Shinjuu. As foreigner, I got a 2.5 hour pass for 2,100 yen which is pretty expensive but had no choice since the hotel do not offer an in-hotel gym. Proper equipment just that be sure to bring 2 pairs of shoes or walk in with your sandals and place them in the locker opposite the receptionist and walk up barefoot and head in the locker where you change to your gym gear and then only wear your gym shoes at the designated area outside. Be sure to write the time you started using the equipment and your estimated duration you will be done using it at the Weight training area located on the 3rd floor.

The facilities are good. Course selection could be better and the pool is not deep enough for me. But generally a good gym. However like with everything in Japan, you need to speak Japanese. All instructors are speaking in Japanese, the membership application form is fully in Japanese and so is the contract.

They never told me that I was signing up for a credit card upon enrollment. They obviously use it for their own benefit. Let me explain. They sign you up for let's say 3 months (you can pay with your own personal credit card) but then upon enrollment they are actually enrolling you in their "Jexer View Credit Card". They require payment to be made through this credit card that they own I assume for their own profit purposes. Luckily my Japanese bank doesn't accept partnership with that credit card type so it was not granted. That's the only reason I found out. Gym itself was OK, a lot of old people and clean but rather busy at times.
