茶店に勤めていたお玉という美女が身投げした悲話から「お玉ヶ池」の名前がついたとの事

1855年火災により社殿焼失、分社がある新小岩の於玉稲荷神社に本社を遷座したという。祠前には於玉ヶ池跡の石柱があり、また近くには種痘所跡の碑があります。
