J	J Kenney on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed at Garden Villa Ishiuchi which was right next to the resort and our expectations were high. Unfortunately the slopes are like rice paddies and in steps and with no real good long runs. Snow conditions were very wet compared to others and it was very crowded. They have a new lift with Gondolas which we did not get to try out but probably due to this, their lift prices are about 20% higher than others nearby. Worst is that they do not allow Snow scoots or Snow Motos but we did not find out until we were on our 4th lift near the top. When we bought our tickets we were told that it was ok and also there was nothing on their home page to indicate otherwise. So we got our money back and went to Iwappara Ski Resort for the afternoon which was awesome! Better snow conditions, wide long runs, lot less people and no discrimination against your equipment of choice.
R	R N on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 3 hours drive from Tokyo. Small mountain right next to Gala Yuzawa. You can add ¥1000 to across mountains. I went on 3/16/2017, but there were still decent snow for small mountain. Each slopes are short. Not too steep. No gondola, so it's a bit tiring getting small lifts and walk or skate between lifts to get to the top.
M	Michael on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice resort, mix of old and new lifts. Good riders can do all the runs in 3 hours. Lots of off trail places that are not forbidden. A bit strange lift connection areas and not long runs. Definitely worth a day of sking and bording in the Uzawa area. Less people than Gala.
H	Hana Gleeson on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went on a public holiday but wasn't too crowded. There are free shuttles to the resort from Echigo-Yuzawa station frequently which was convenient. The facilities are modern and clean, and well heated. Big spacious change rooms with lockers and toilets. Many places to choose from to eat at various courses of the resort. Highly recommended to everyone!!
な	なんさり on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This year has been great with a lot of snow. Ishiuchi Maruyama usually has a moist, heavy snow and lot of rain, but Jan through mid-Feb was perfect. Powdery snow and great view from the top, where you can see a beautiful white paddy fields. The gondola and lift at the center entrance are very high-tech. The seats on lift is warm and comfy. Definitely recommend lift than gondola. They also run night time ski everyday until end of Feb. During the weekend, they will even re-groom certain slopes. Night skiing has another beautiful view.

Lots of restaurants available too, although the quality and healthiness of the foods are quite low, I advise you bring your own food and eat it there. I was very much surprised by the heated seats in one of the lift, such a great idea.
