An amazing house. The garden is so wonderful that it can be overwhelmed. The buckwheat was also delicious. The Harihari radish that was attached to the buckwheat was so delicious that it could only be said to be exquisite. It seems that the curry was also delicious. But by the way, it's rude, but I just saw it while I was at the nearby Maibara house, and I'm glad I saw it. You should see it. Maibara housing is a Maibara housing known to those in the know.

Great building! ️ What is the current value of hundreds of millions?
At the coffee shop in the facility, I think that 1,000 yen is cheap for kakiage soba and coffee. The kakiage is big and the soba is a lot ...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Early 20th c. traditional house built by Chizu's leading merchant family. Having made their fortune in forestry, they built their house with superb timber-work. It's a large house with impressive gardens. Well worth a visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful old house with lovely gardens! You can't actually go into the garden but viewing it from the different rooms is still relaxing. There are rotating exhibitions in the storehouses and local crafts sold in the gift shop. Free parking!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What I heard was that the Ishitani family was the richest family around town who built this residence and flourished the whole Chizu region as one of the largest Shubuka.
The place itself is pretty impressive, considering how long it has been around and how proper it has been kempt.
As you walk inside, you can hear the floorboards creaking. You will also realise the interior is colder than the exterior, which was puzzling.
If you enjoy museum visits, you'd probably enjoy this.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This old residence was owned by the same family for generations. The bedrooms and tea rooms are kept traditionally but with information for visitors. The gardens are impeccably kept by a third-generation gardener. Every room is beautiful. The garden is old enough to have been visited by samurai, and old wood carvings have been preserved for generations. It is a must-visit location.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was interesting to learn how much the Ishitani Residence played a big part of the area's past. The home is beautiful and full of surprises, such as the Shinden-shitsu, which is a unique room that houses a shrine indoors, and unique detailing, such as the carved dragons and phoenixes on the wooden panels, not to mention the exquisite pieces of art and collection of ceramics. We also happened to visit when the garden was open to the public and caught the most dramatic fall foliage reflecting off the giant koi pond in the late afternoon sun. A memorable day and a must see for history and art lovers!
