Inagura Rice Terraces 2021/06/09 Inagura rice terraces are one of the 100 best rice terraces in Ueda, although they are famous for their rice terraces. Although the scale is smaller than Obasute, there are few houses in the surrounding area, so beautiful rice terraces are spreading. Inakura is Ueda Taira below. Obasute is Nagano Taira below. It is said that the old people's obsession with making rice by stepping the land that is not suitable for rice cultivation in the mountains, or the feeling for rice is conveyed. .. .. .. However, the original owners of rice terraces often abandon cultivation if it is cheaper to buy than the time and effort to make them, and I feel that maintenance is supported by volunteers and the owner system of rice terraces.

During the drive, I noticed a signboard and decided to stop by in a hurry, but under the clear sky, I got used to the nostalgic feelings and it is a very nice place (^ ∇ ^)

It is located overlooking the city of Ueda. I went there after the harvest, so it was the worst time to see the rice terraces. We also sell rice harvested there.

2021.10.20 I stopped by on the way to the Shiga Kusatsu route. It was a relieved place like the scenery of The Japan. Japan is nice. I forgot the time and was able to wash my heart.

It is a place with a very peaceful atmosphere. You can see the original scenery of Japan. It seems that volunteers are saving this rice terrace, and there is a 100 yen coin box. Of course I agreed. Also, if you have a single-lens reflex camera, you will need a permit at the office. Please be careful!

2022/1/10 The rice terraces in winter were also beautiful. The shop was closed (winter?). I think the time when snow is piled up is beautiful, but if the snow is deep, the approach road is narrow and it can be imagined that it is a little dangerous.

Tucked away in the quiet hills of Sanada in Ueda City, this is one of Japan's 100 best rice terrace views! It overlooks the city and the Ueda Roman Bridge. Looked great in spring when the farmers irrigated the fields and the sky is reflected in the waters; also looking forward to autumn when the crops turn golden. Apparently fireflies appear at night in summer too. There is a cafe/restaurant further up the hills with nice food and awesome views.

It was one of my goals to go here to photograph the terraced fields on my trip to the area. I lucked out with the weather and the time of year. On Sep. 23, they were just harvesting the fields and there were scarecrows on display, but some were a bit blown over. The area is managed by an NPO and families pay to be members and harvest the rice. Entrance is free, but apparently you are asked to pay 500 yen for parking. We got there at 9:30 on a Saturday and there were already lots of cars so just kind of parked on the road and didn't know to pay. The car navigation also couldn't get us there, so had to use Google maps and intuition until we hit some small signs. There's no food, but a small rest house with a drink machine and rice for sale. The terraces are not on the huge scale of those you might see in National Geographic, but photographers will enjoy the landscape and view.
