★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very good Tonkatsu. Had the set of chicken, pork, minced pork and crab cream croquette, was a little heavy but delicious. Personally would have loved it if the fried food was hotter.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super slow service (and restaurant wasn’t even crowded). Tonkatsu set was just OK, I feel like you can definitely find better— what I didn’t like about it was that the fat wasn’t evenly distributed throughout the cut of loin. So you end up getting a couple of complete mouthfuls of fat, which is pretty unpleasant. I also didn’t think the breading/fry was great, and the meat (that wasn’t fat) wasn’t really tender. Not the melt-in-your-mouth experience that one associates with good katsu. I also tried the fried egg wrapped in pork menu item, but it was very underwhelming, wouldn’t recommend it. One more nit: I feel like the cabbage wasn’t well shredded either? It was pretty chunky, instead of finely sliced. Eh.
Maybe the chicken is better, but if you’re looking for a good tonkatsu, I’d pass on this place

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best chicken katsu I've ever had, and one of my favorite meals during my trips to Tokyo. The meat is super juicy with a crunchy breading, and still manages to tastes very light, not at all like typical deep fried foods. They also have pork and shrimp options, but whatever you decide on, get it with the rice/soup set. You can also add other sides like curry sauce for even more variety. Meals come with free shredded lettuce. There's salad dressing on the table. Service was attentive and efficient. We had no problems getting seating for 4 on a Thursday night. Overall recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you got turned away from Butagumi, you might get referred to this Tonkatsu place. Walk towards Roppongi station (15 min) and you’ll get there.
– The wait was about 45 minutes when I got there around 1pm on a Tuesday. If the line looks short, you’ll be surprised how long the turnaround will take.
– I got the complete lunch set (the bottom choice on the lunch menu). It was about $15 USD for a pork, chicken, and handmade pork mixed cream croquette set.
– You pour Tonkatsu sauce into the saucer and salt on the other side. Dip your piece of meat into the sauce and then dip it into the salt.
– It is the most light, crispy, tender Tonkatsu ever. And it’s so reasonably cheap!
– Yes I would totally come back here again. I would also recommend you to get the entire set if you waited 45 minutes in line.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is actually amazing. I ate their chicken tenders, and it was that, chicken and oh my God, so tender, the texture was between eating a mushroom and tofu, the crisp on the outside coupled with the tenderness of the chicken was absolutely magnificent. I never thought chicken could taste like that.
They have bottomless rice and cabbage salad. Their sesame dressing is so good. I couldn't stop myself from asking for another round of salad (what?!).
The wait staff were super friendly, my partner and I came in towards the end of their lunch time, but they still accommodated like time wasn't an issue. While we waited to sit, the staff asked us to make our selections then, and by the time we sat down, the food stating coming in, so we didn't wait long.
The prices are very reasonable, and I'm surprised they're not charging more.
Highly recommend this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ YES, YES, YES! Found this place and all I can say is that it’s amazing. sometimes there’s a line that forms outside, but it’s worth the wait(I think). i always get a 2 plates; the chicken and pork loin. The chicken is simply mouth watering. It melts in your mouth and all you can do is smile. It’s that good. The pork is almost the exact same with a different texture over course. They also have another location in Ginza.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is located down an alleyway and a bit unassuming one could miss it if one weren't looking carefully. The restaurant is somewhat small, with two private rooms, maybe 5 counter seats, and maybe another 8 tables inside. For the private rooms they ask you to take your shoes off and place them outside. They also ask you not to step on the floor too hard because the building is old? It was a strange request but I tried my best not to destroy the floor. Two people in my party had shoes that were difficult to take off so we opted to sit at the counter seats instead of private rooms as no regular tables were open.
We arrived at 3 and were warned that they must close at 3:50. The menu had english on it. We ordered the chicken katsu, pork katsu, and pork/curry katsu. Haven't had too many katsu in my life so I'm not sure what to compare this place to, however their katsu is well executed. The breading is light and crispy, and the meat interior is juicy and tender. The rice was cooked perfectly as well.
The only issue was perhaps because they were in such a rush to close, they didnt fry the chicken all the way. If you look at the picture I posted when they first brought dishes out the chicken was a bit pink in the middle. 2 pieces were this way. We brought it to the waitress's attention, she looked at it, and thought for a few moments, then told us that was ok... We sort of looked at each other like... what? Then she came back a minute later to take the dish away. Then brought the dish back to us later a few minutes later. We think they fried it a bit more or replaced the 2 pieces that were pink. We're still not quite sure if anything was done. Only time will tell... I would recommend not coming so close to their closing time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Must go! Everything was delicious. We ordered #7 and #9 on the menu (English menu available). The chicken was so good and juicy, and we appreciate the fact that it's not flavoured. You can really savour the flavour of the chicken, and they provide salt on the table. Rice and salad are free-refill (which is quiet common).
