★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 江戸時代千代田区側は外堀の城壁である土居にかこまれて、この目白通りも飯田橋もありませんでした。
明治初年（1868)に簡単な木橋が架けられましたが、明治十四年（1881）には鉄製の橋にかわり、昭和四年（1929）に現在の橋がかかりました。
The Chiyoda Ward side of the Edo period was surrounded by Doi, the castle wall of Sotobori, and there was neither Mejiro Dori nor Iidabashi.
A simple wooden bridge was erected in the first year of the Meiji era (1868), but in 1881 the steel bridge was replaced by the current bridge in 1929.
