★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 日本の「近代水道の父」と呼ばれる中島鋭治の自宅の井戸だそうである。復元されたものであり，実物ではないようである。
中島は、日本全国の上下水道事業に関わったらしく，おそらく，この成果から「近代水道の父」と祭り上げられている様である。
なお，ヘンリー・スペンサー・パーマーを日本の「近代水道の父」とする資料も多くあるが，これは日本初の洋式上水道を横浜に敷いたためであろう。これは中島が関わった東京府の上水道建設に10年近く先立つものだった。
