★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 東北の麓鬼越から西南の麓妙正寺の裏山の大日谷まで500mほどの間に大小の城郭施設が見られるようですが、本廓付近を除いて観察しずらいようです。
本廓にある「高藤山古蹟碑」は一宮藩主加納久徴が文久2年（1862）に建立したもので、幕府儒官、大阪代官の古賀茶谿の撰文で、勘定奉行や和宮警護を勤めて能筆の戸川安清の書。江戸の名工廣瀬羣鶴の刻。久徴はこれより先18年前に「洞庭」湖碑も建立しています。

上総広常公が源頼朝公に加勢した事が、頼朝公勝利、それに続く鎌倉幕府を開府する決定打となりました。
この加勢した際の軍勢は2万人と伝わっています。この吾妻鏡の情報には、過大な人数とも言われています。
数の真偽はともかく、他の武将よりも桁違いに兵の動員能力があったことは疑いようがなく、この地から下知を飛ばし、兵を集め、歴史が動き出したことを想像すると、ワクワク感が止まりませんでした。
江戸末期に当地を治めた加納久徴公が、上総広常公の事績を後世に伝えたいという強い想いから当地を上総広常公の拠点と認定し、山頂に石碑を建立しました。
我々がその意志をしっかりと引き継ぎ、上総広常公の事績を後世に伝えるべきと思います。
